Clinical Research

Join a Meridian Clinical Trial at RIMG

Rockville Internal Medicine Group partners with Meridian Clinical Research.  Together, we conduct clinical trials to help research better therapies for the patients we see, and for people worldwide.

Meridian and RIMG are now accepting participants — including healthy adults— for several paid clinical trials. Research studies offer a way for almost anyone, regardless of age or background, to help improve human health and wellbeing.

The Principal Investigators include:

  • Dr. Shishir Khetan
  • Dr. Ira Berger
  • Dr. Rahul Patel
  • Dr. Alan Pollack
  • Dr. Asefa Mekonnen
  • Dr. Grace Woo
  • Dr. Belen Tesfaye

In addition to vaccine studies for people of all ages, typical studies at this site explore medicines developed to treat conditions such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Asthma/COPD
  • Hypertension
  • High cholesterol
  • Atrial Fibrillation
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux

Without clinical trials, it would be impossible to develop new medicines and cures. These studies also offer more care options for our patients suffering from both common and rare health conditions. This is especially helpful for patients who struggle to find effective therapies currently on the market.

Our clinical trials are held to incredibly high standards set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Meridian. Every effort is made to ensure patient safety. If you ever have a question about the study process or currently open clinical trials, ask us next time you visit our office, simply call Meridian’s call center at (912) 623-2240, or sign up for more information on Meridian’s website.

If we feel that you are a good candidate for a study, someone from our office or Meridian may contact you. At RIMG, we fully support the clinical trials that you are contacted about. We encourage you to participate if you are contacted and are always here to answer your questions.

Participating in a clinical trial is always optional — regardless of what you do, RIMG will continue to provide excellent traditional care. To support great leaps in medicine, we support clinical research. We hope you will, too.
